Therapy Benefiting the Family
Having a family is both delightful and challenging. The relationship between individual family members is crucial for the experience of well-being and development.
The EFT model (Emotionally Focused Therapy) offers a specific intervention for families EFFT (Emotionally Focused Family Therapy) considers emotions to be our internal navigation system, telling us what is important "here and now," what we need, and how we need to act in accordance with the situation.
This therapy focuses on helping people become aware of and express their emotions. You learn to accept and regulate yourselves and the emotions that arise in challenging situations within a family system.
Most of the problems we face, we solve on our own. But in certain situations, it can be beneficial and reassuring to take some sessions with a therapist, focusing on your dynamics, interactions, and roles in the family.
Do you have shared and/or stepchildren? Have a good dialogue about how you handle everyday life.
So if one person in the family is struggling, the entire family is affected. When you are a member of a family, there is no such thing as your problem or my problem. It's all our problem.
When the interaction between adults is perceived as destructive, everyone will be affected. The interpersonal relationships among adults are crucial for the well-being of the children.
At the same time, it can be liberating for middle-sized and older children to have a space to talk—either collectively or individually.
