Privacy Policy Regarding Confidentiality of Personal Data
Here's an update of my privacy policy in accordance with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The main purposes of the new General Data Protection Regulation are as follows:
- That you know exactly what data/information a company has registered about you.
- That you know what the data is used for.
- That you can have your data deleted/retrieved (unless other laws contradict this).
- That you must give consent if your information is disclosed to other parties, or if the data is to be used for purposes other than those for which it was originally collected.
Therefore, I must inform you about the data/information I have about you - and what it's used for.
The data I have registered about you includes: Name, address, phone number, and email (i.e., what you have provided in the consent form).
All information is used solely for the following purposes:
- Psychotherapeutic Treatment (I do not disclose data to others unless you have been asked and have given written consent to this).
Purpose of privacy policy:
The purpose of the privacy policy is to show how the company Pia Torp Psychotherapy collects, protects, and uses personal data. Pia Torp fully respects all requests for confidentiality of personal information provided online and is aware of the need for appropriate protection and proper handling of all personal information received. The goal is to protect your personal information, regardless of where it is collected, disclosed, or stored (other countries, partners, etc.).
Personal information here includes all information that can be used to identify you as a client.
Record and Consent Declaration:
Record: As a psychotherapist, I need to keep records of our conversations for treatment purposes to ensure quality and continuity of care. Record-keeping helps ensure the quality and recognition of my professional work. Additionally, it's an important tool in the therapy process because I need to be prepared for each session, and the record ensures that I can account for the progress and development of therapy. Only personal information necessary for treating the client during the process is included in the record.
When you are a client at Pia Torp Psychotherapy, you are assigned a client number that is included on all records, and only this number and first name appear. Therefore, it is not possible for unauthorized parties to identify you as a client. All notes are kept in a locked area.
Consent Declaration: A therapy process begins with your consent that you are aware of the company's privacy policy and provide information about yourself necessary to ensure quality treatment. With the consent declaration, you are asked to provide first and last name, home address or other physical address, email address, phone number, marital status, and any special considerations, illnesses, hospitalizations, including any medication use. You consent that you are aware of the cancellation and payment rules. The consent declaration does not include the client number. Client's CPR numbers are never requested.
Personal information is completely deleted 5 years after a treatment process.
Is personal information disclosed?
Pia Torp does not disclose a client's personal information to third parties, and no additional information is collected from third parties regarding a client.

In addition to the information you enter in connection with inquiries and those given during a therapy process, the website uses cookies. Cookies are digital information packets stored by the website on your hard drive.

Secure communication?
Please note that inquiries and responses to inquiries are not encrypted. If your inquiry or order contains information about matters you believe should be protected, you should contact us by phone or in person. Always contact me if you have any questions regarding your process and confidentiality.
